June is a little quieter on the events front, but there are still a handful of events that caught my eye this month. And if you’re just after the highlights, you’ll find a handy summary table with all the dates and locations at the end of the article. 

Last chance for WA’s biggest celebration of Aboriginal art

Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts | Tuesdays to Sundays until 14 June | Free

Last chance this June to see over 185 artworks from new and emerging WA Aboriginal artists as part of Revealed. 

Garden Festival in Kalamunda 

Stirk Park | Sunday 7 June | $10

Join the autumn festival this Sunday with over 130 stalls, including plenty of nurseries. There are a few pictures available on the official website to take a sneak peek, and where you can also buy your tickets, especially if you’re aiming for the popular 10-11am timeslot. This is really for garden buffs of all experience levels, with speakers and hands-on demonstrations. 

Lightscape at Kings Park

Kings Park | Wednesdays – Sundays, 5 June – 26 July | $36-40

No need to introduce this event, and it’s hardly gone unnoticed thanks to the extensive communications and marketing, but nonetheless it’s one not to miss. While the outdoor big-event scene is getting a little thinner, Lightscape is great for a date (with dedicated “Over 30” tickets on Wednesday evenings) or for the family. Perth Upmarket

UWA | Sunday 21 June | Free 

After a first 2026 edition in March (where I bought a beautiful metal stingray for our garden), the market is back in June on the beautiful grounds of UWA. It’s worth going at least once if you’re into this type of event. In autumn, some of the trees along Matilda Bay Reserve have beautiful autumn leaves, so you can make a day out of it.

Comic Con & Gaming

Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre | Saturday & Sunday 27-28 June | From $50

With everything you expect from a Comic Con event, Supanova brings guests from Charmed, Back to the Future and Star Trek. The timetable is coming soon, but you can already buy your tickets  here or keep an eye on updates here.

90s Day Party

Portal | Saturday 27 June | $40

Everything is said in the title. It’s at 4pm and is all about bringing us back to the 90s. At the time of writing, tickets are 75% sold, so you can grab yours  here.

Food-wise… 

Food-wise, two events seem to be getting a bit of interest this June, starting with the City of Bayswater’s Feed Me Morley Food Festival on Saturday 13 June (2–8pm). This event is rather on the smaller side; however, it’s a good opportunity if you’ve already circled all the food trucks from the various summer markets, as the festival brings local restaurants serving their signature dishes. A bit further away, there’s Kingsway Italian Day, which invites Italian vendors alongside the usual weekly market, with extra entertainment (animal farm, music, etc.). So if you have a craving for fresh pasta, head to Madeley on Saturday 6 June. Event page  here.
